Giraffe Digital once again joined MK Food Bank for World Food Day (October 16th) to participate in ‘MK Can Quest’, a series of competitive challenges across Campbell Park. On the anniversary of the world record-breaking MK Can event last year, businesses and community groups teamed up to take on various challenges along the previous year’s MK Can route.
A community effort
Joined by local businesses like Freeths, Bidwells, Macintyre, and Milton Keynes Council, team Giraffe got involved in an array of challenges at different points of the park, many linked to local Milton Keynes landmarks, sculptures and history from the city. Others included more physical elements, like racing down the hill in an MK Can costume. Teams were also tasked with spotting golden cans hidden across the park for extra points, taking selfies in branded clothing, snapping pictures of other teams and donating food collections to MK Food Bank.
All proceeds from the event go towards filling the food shortage gap at the food bank over the winter months, so they can continue their great work in helping those in need across Milton Keynes. However, the event was about more than raising funds, it was also an opportunity for MK businesses, volunteers, students and local groups to join in an important community initiative that helps the most vulnerable.
More than a digital agency
Joe Gilbert, Managing Director at Giraffe, says: “As a digital marketing agency in Milton Keynes, we know how important our local charities are to the community, and strongly believe in giving back whenever we can. MK Can Quest not only enables our team to give back in a fun and meaningful way, but also shows how dedicated the business community is across Milton Keynes, with so many supporters involved for yet another successful year. We were pleased to take part and hope that our contribution helps make a difference to those in need in our community. We’re excited to see what great ideas MK Food Bank have in store next year!”
Web design support
As a Milton Keynes web design agency, Giraffe redesigned the MK Food Bank website last year and we now manage the charity’s ongoing website maintenance. In addition to this support, we also regularly take part in the charity’s fundraising events, having participated in the charity’s logo challenge earlier in the year. As a proud partner of MK Food Bank, we are proud to continue supporting the charity, as well as many others in Milton Keynes, like Willen Hospice and Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.
