01. Overview
Hacklings Transport are the largest transportation company in the Cotswolds area. When they first came to Red Giraffe, they wanted to be found for local key search terms, which had been challenging due to the fact that the Cotswolds covers six different counties. Their website was ranking on page 2-3 for the majority of their keyword phrases.
02. The Solution
We identified that the Hacklings SEO campaign would need to focus around three key areas, each needing its own strategy and process.
This multi-faceted approach would have a compounding effect across the whole web design in uk. allowing Hacklings to not only improve their rankings for their chosen keyword phrases like pallet delivery, but also to gain traction and improved visibility for all their services and geographic areas.
The three areas we looked at were:
- Technical: Whilst the Hacklings website wasn’t in a bad place to start with, we went through the website with a fine-tooth comb to ensure every element was optimised in line with Google Search Console guidelines.
- Content optimisation: The Hacklings website had a substantial amount of content across the site, but it wasn’t optimally distributed in terms of keyword density or presented in a unified manner.
- E-A-T optimisation: one of the most significant areas of our campaign was E-A-T (expertise, authority and trust) optimisation. We collaborated with Hacklings to enhance domain authority, showcase expertise throughout the website, and enhance trust scores among site visitors.
03. The Results
Following the gradual introduction of our optimisation in June 2020, the Hacklings Transport website started to see a steady improvement in rankings. We saw most of their keywords jump to page 1 by late 2020, demonstrating the work we were doing was getting results. By the first quarter of 2021 they were seeing significant upwards shifts in their page rankings, and by June 2021, one year on from starting the campaign, Hacklings held top 2 and 3 positions across many of their keyword phrases. The rankings contunue to climb gradually, and we’re confident in achieving a position 1 ranking by the end of 2021.
